If you didn’t agree with my article about Susan Boyle – then read this follow-up article and let’s see if that hard-head of yours doesn’t start to crack with common sense. American’s love a train wreck and TV Exec’s have no problem giving the public exactly what they desire. Yeah, SO, what’s the next point? They point is “no conscience” on the real damage of Reality TV.
Guess who is going to be exploiting their eight children this up-coming season? Jon and Kate + 8, well of course that train wreck is continuing. Their children should completely enjoy watching the clips from that show, about as much as --- Danny from the Partridge Family and Ricky Nelson of Ozzie and Harriet along with a multitude of other dysfunctional child-actors.
Can we have the envelope please ….. Ok, so the envelope was opened about 2 months ago but the Official Announcement has been made as Octomom will have her completely dysfunctional family on permanent DVD for her kids to watch in another 10-15years. Does anyone in TV world ever get a good nights sleep, or are their values just permanently anesthetized?
Enough said on this specific issue of conscience – the real issue of how does a professional publicist deal with a scenario within a very controversial issue? Here are a few ideas when you and your firm is forced to face controversial issues.
a.) Always acknowledge there are tough issues and compromises and you have to make a decision.
b.) Outline methods and parameters established to make sure that any adversity that grows from the short-end of your decision will have limited impact.
c.) Present your thought process and belief; that given the opportunities your are offered you have made a heat felt, decisive pro-active decision and you will monitor the impact.
Adaptations of a decision can be evaluated in the future.
In the case of these families and their decisions I would recommend a child psychologist be at the home of theses Reality Shows to evaluate the ones who need help.
THE ADULTS!
